Constant Connectivity 11/27
Media and I are deeply involved. I don't like to admit it but I can't remember the last time I went a day technology free. In the modern age it seems necessary to be connected constantly. I'm so dependent on my phone that I haven't truly 'honed' any skills. I rely on it for everything. I use media for simple things like international news or homework help from my friends. I should be blamed for my behavior. I rationalize what I do by saying "everyone else is doing it" and so should I. It's easy to fall for media and the instant gratification it provides but it's hard to break the cycle once in. Especially with sites using cookies to try to improve our experience kinda freaks me out. For example, a couple weeks ago I was doing some online shopping and next thing I know ads for the exact website I had previously visited was popping up everywhere. It scares me effectively. It reminds me to buy and use the website the ad is on because that is what appeals to me. You can't avoid it even if you tried. The internet is inevitable.
